Samsung has officially introduced the latest version of its flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. In late August, reports about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series, the next iteration of their S-series flagships, began to emerge. According to recent reports, the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup will consist of three models: the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, known internally as “Muse1,” “Muse2,” and “Muse3,” respectively.
A recent leak from a well-known blogger indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a 2TB variant. It also confirmed that the 256GB variant will include 12GB of RAM, with a potential additional 8GB+128GB option. In contrast, the previous Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra had four storage options: 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 12GB+1TB.
Additional details from blogger @ibinguniverse suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature an approximately 6.8-inch (precisely 6.78-inch) display with a resolution of 3120*1440. This results in a screen ratio of 19.5:9 and a peak brightness of 2500nit.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 6.8-inch screen with 3088 x 1440 resolution (micro-curved QHD+). It achieves a peak brightness of 1750nit and supports 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Previously, the blogger suggested the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra might have a flat-screen design, measuring 162.3mm×79mm×8.6mm.
In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s dimensions are 163.4×78.1×8.9mm, highlighting that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is shorter, wider, and thinner compared to its predecessor.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra upgraded the telephoto lens to 50 Megapixels. It keeps the same base size as the IMX858. It does not change the parameters of the 10x sensor. Both the main camera and ultra-wide-angle lens retain their previous specifications. The new phone’s camera protrudes by around 2mm, maintaining the body’s weight, battery capacity, and charging power.
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a quad-camera setup, including a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 200-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 10-megapixel 10x optical zoom telephoto lens, and a 10-megapixel 3x optical zoom telephoto lens. This device weighs 233 grams and includes a 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
Furthermore, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to have a titanium alloy frame. Titanium alloys offer greater strength and corrosion resistance compared to stainless steel or aluminum alloys. However, using titanium alloys could potentially increase the device’s price.
Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will follow the trend of narrow bezels set by Apple and Xiaomi. Specifically, the Samsung Galaxy S24+ is expected to feature a 6.65-inch screen, a 4900mAh battery, and a base memory capacity of 8GB. In contrast, the previous Samsung Galaxy S23+ had a 6.6-inch display, a 4700mAh battery, and a starting memory of 8GB.
Regarding processors, reliable reports suggest that Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, set for release next year, will reintroduce the dual-processor strategy. Alongside Qualcomm’s third-generation Snapdragon 8 for Galaxy, the series will also include Samsung Exynos 2400 processors for certain markets, such as Europe.
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy has appeared on GeekBench. This device achieved a single-core score of 2233 for version 6.1.0 and a multi-core score of 6661.
Based on current information, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series seems poised for improvements mainly in performance and imaging. However, the release of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is still some time away, and actual details might change. Those interested should stay updated for more information.
