Last month, the Indian smart wearable brand BoAt announced the launch of a smart ring product. Today, the product, named BoAt Ring, was introduced to the Indian market for 8,999 rupees(about $108). This smart ring combines health and sports functions found in smartwatches and introduces novel control methods and features.
Distinguishing itself from conventional smart wearable devices, BoAt Ring employs a one-handed operation design. Through touches and slides, users can control multiple functions. The BoAt Ring enables users to manage music playback, pause tracks, and switch between tracks seamlessly.
This smart ring also permits remote control of a mobile phone camera’s shutter, enhancing the user’s photography experience. Additionally, the BoAt Ring supports browsing short video applications, although the specific compatible applications and operations remain undisclosed.
Innovating not only in its control mechanism, BoAt Ring offers health monitoring capabilities. Real-time tracking of health indicators such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep quality, and body temperature is possible. It also tracks steps taken, calorie expenditure, and various exercise modes. For unforeseen circumstances, the BoAt Ring includes an SOS emergency call trigger function, providing users with an extra layer of security.
Boat Ring, crafted from ceramic and metal materials with an emphasis on fashion-forward design, is available in three sizes—17.40mm, 19.15mm, and 20.85mm. Additionally, boasting a water resistance rating of 5ATM, it can function at depths of up to 50 meters. As for battery life, the BoAt Ring can endure up to 7 days and comes complete with a dedicated charger.
The BoAt Ring app facilitates data monitoring and function control, providing users with easy access to these features. The app is already available, offering a user-friendly means of interaction.
