During the Cologne Game Show, ROG unveiled the latest Wi-Fi 7 router, the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro. As per reports, the Rapture GT-BE98 Pro represents an enhanced iteration of the GT-BE98 which ROG had introduced at the start of the year.
It embraces the Wi-Fi 7 standard, boasting not only a 2.4GHz frequency band but also two 5GHz frequency bands and a 6GHz frequency band. These bands theoretically offer speeds of up to 30,000 Mbps. Demonstrating the router’s capabilities live at Gamescom 2023, ASUS showcased real-world speeds reaching an impressive 4700 Mbps.
In terms of its configuration, this router houses a 64-bit quad-core 2.6GHz processor. Furthermore, it comes equipped with two 10G network ports as well as four 2.5G network ports, while also supporting the inclusion of RGB lighting.
According to preceding reports, Tenna’s official website officially initiated a public solicitation on June 1st. This solicitation involved the “Notice of the State Radio Office on New Type Approval Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Wireless Area Network Equipment Adopting the IEEE 802.11be Technical Standard (Draft for Comment).” This step is indicative that Wi-Fi, associated with a flurry of Wi-Fi 7 products, is set to emerge on the market in the near future. Currently, the price and release date for this router remain undisclosed by ROG.
