Lenovo Legion Go Gaming Handheld Leaked: 8-inch Screen, Ryzen Z1

On April 2, ROG officially announced its upcoming release of a handheld game console, which garnered attention. The ROG handheld achieved strong sales upon its launch. More recently, another Windows handheld manufacturer is set to introduce Windows handhelds. As reported by Windows Report, Lenovo Legion Go gaming handhelds are soon to hit the market, with key details already revealed.

In terms of appearance, the Legion Go gaming handheld closely resembles Steam Deck and Rog Ally. It features an 8-inch screen with an aspect ratio of around 16:10. Regarding the controller, the joy-cons adopt a classic button layout, including the conventional D-Pad and ABXY buttons. Renderings suggest it will also feature a Hall rocker and a release button on the back of each joy-con button.

Furthermore, the device’s rear has air intake and cooling vents for heat, with exhaust vents positioned on the upper side. It ensures extended gaming without overheating concerns. As for performance, reports indicate the handheld will be powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z1 processor, coupled with a high-performance cooling system, Thunderbolt port, MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5mm port.

The AMD Ryzen Z1 processor is of particular interest, similar to the one equipped on the ROG handheld. Let’s examine the specifications of the ROG handheld for comparison. The ROG handheld follows the classic design of Windows handhelds, weighing around 608g. The ROG handheld features a standard 1080P full HD, 120Hz high refresh rate gaming screen with a 7ms response time, supporting FreeSync Premium anti-tearing technology.

In regard to performance, the ROG handheld utilizes the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, explicitly crafted for gaming handhelds. Shifting to its specifications, it includes a Zen 4 and RDNA 3 integrated display, comprising 8 substantial cores and 16 threads. Graphic processing performance reaches 8.6 TFLOPS, supporting AMD FSR and RSR for high-resolution function This enhances image frame rates, minimizing stuttering for a smooth experience playing AAA games on a mobile platform.

The Lenovo Legion Go has 16GB of LPDDR5 6400MHz dual-channel option, a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and a UHS-II microSD for expandable storage. It supports Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity for online gaming and cloud gaming.

The Lenovo Legion Go adopts the glacier-cooling architecture in its handheld version. It supports various game platforms, including Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, and GOG Galaxy 2.0. It can also run select Android mobile games through Android simulations like Tencent Mobile Game Assistant.

According to the surrounding news, the Lenovo Legion Go price will be starting from $600 to $900.
