DJI introduced its first civilian carrier drone, DJI FlyCart 30 (FC30), designed for material transportation in various environments, including mountainous, coastal, rural, and emergency scenarios.
The FC30 drone by DJI supports two load modes: cargo box and empty crane. It falls under a restricted unmanned Drone system intended for operation in mountainous and rural terrains, coastal regions, and various emergencies occurring over uninhabited areas and within uncongested airspace.
DJI FlyCart 30 Features
The drone features a 4-axis, 8-blade multi-rotor setup and can carry up to 30kg in its dual-electric mode, covering distances of up to 16 kilometers when fully loaded. It functions within a temperature range of -20°C to 45°C and can reach a maximum flight altitude of 6000 meters.
The FC30 has found application in diverse landscapes, ranging from mountainous plateaus like Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, and Guizhou to shore-based locations like Nanjing and Tianjin. For instance, it powers pilot drone transportation initiatives in mountainous areas, effectively carrying various materials. Covering several kilometers, this process takes less than 20 minutes compared to traditional methods that could take 3 to 4 hours.
The DJI FlyCart 30 crane system is designed for challenging take-off and landing situations. It uses a cable drop mode, controllable both manually and automatically. It can handle up to 40 kg of retractable weight, extend up to 20 meters, and retract at a speed of 0.8 m/s. This system showcases impressive capabilities. Furthermore, the drone includes an intelligent anti-sway function that adjusts its flight position to prevent cargo swing, enhancing cargo stability.
Zhang Xiaonan, DJI’s senior director of corporate strategy and spokesperson, highlighted the impact of DJI’s UAV products in various sectors like agriculture, energy, mapping, and security, expressing optimism about providing efficient, cost-effective, and secure aerial vehicles to address transportation challenges in intricate terrain and terminals.
The FC30’s standard package costs RMB 125,000 (about $17257), including the carrier drone core (with remote control), a C8000 clever charging steward, two DB2000 intelligent flight batteries, and two 16A charger AC cables. The product is launching in mainland China.
