Today, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand officially announced the Redmi K60 Ultra, their latest mobile phone, as the first Redmi device to feature IP68 dust and waterproof functions. This phone, which has functionality even after 30 minutes submerged in 1.5 meters of water, is set for release on August 14 at 7 pm.
In the GB T 4208-2017 standard, the waterproof and dustproof level is denoted by the digits following IPXX. The initial number signifies dust proofing, ranging from 0 to 6, with 6 being the highest level. The second digit indicates waterproofing, ranging from 0 to 8; the highest level is 8. Notably, IP68 signifies the utmost protection level.
Many netizens expressed surprise at this feature, considering the Redmi K60 Ultra’s mid-range, sub-flagship status. Most high-end Android flagship models lack IP68 waterproofing, and many phones cost four to five thousand yuan.
Based on prior Pacific Science and Technology Information reports, Redmi confirmed the K60 Ultra’s features, including the Dimensity 9200+ processor and X7 independent display chip. Both speed and image rendering see substantial enhancements. The new Violent Engine 2.0 bolsters processing capabilities. Furthermore, a 24GB+1TB memory version will be offered, claimed to support over 70 background applications concurrently. This model achieved a running score exceeding 1.77 million points, an Android phone record.
The Redmi K60 Ultra official release is scheduled for August 14th at 7:00 pm. The conference lineup boasts significant offerings: the performance flagship Redmi K60 Extreme Edition, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 folding screen phone, the new Mi Band 8 Pro, and Mi Pad 6 Max 14. Additionally, Lei Jun’s fourth annual speech promises captivating insights. This event undoubtedly heralds a significant feast for the mobile phone industry; anticipation is high.
