International media Smartptix has unveiled OnePlus’s debut folding-screen mobile phone, OnePlus Open, in collaboration with well-known whistleblower OnLeaks. OnLeaks, who witnessed OnePlus Open, worked with Smartptix to produce the latest renderings. The aspect ratio of the OnePlus Open has been re-adjusted to become “wider” instead of “longer,” enhancing one-handed usability and content viewing, likely influenced by OPPO Find N2 foldable model.

The new rendering presents OnePlus Open with a curved rounded corner design and a narrow border, resembling OPPO Find N2. Additionally, it features a larger size.

The camera module in the latest renders includes three cameras, possibly incorporating a periscope telephoto camera and a single sensor. Speculation suggests the sensor could be ToF or lidar, accompanied by a giant flash. The “Hasselblad” logo has been simplified to just the letter “H.” The forward-facing camera’s position has shifted from the upper left corner to the upper right corner upon screen unfolding.

Reports indicate that OnePlus will host an offline press conference in New York to officially launch their first folding-screen mobile phone, likely OnePlus Open, as teased in a suggestive Twitter post on July 26. Netizens speculate that OnePlus will incorporate the OPPO Find N2 design cues into its folding-screen phone. The phone will feature a periscope lens with 3x optical zoom and be available in black and green colors.

OnePlus Open will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, providing robust performance. The device may have a side fingerprint sensor and a three-stage slider. Additionally, on the software front, it is expected to run the OxygenOS Fold “Special Edition,” which is based on Android 13.
