A few days ago, a picture circulating on social media revealed a suspected nameplate for a Xiaomi car battery pack. The nameplate displayed the following information: the battery pack model is A13100, and the rated voltage is 726.7V. The rated capacity is 139Ah, and the battery pack’s overall rated capacity is 101kWh. It weighs 642kg, and the battery pack’s energy density is 157Wh/kg.
The models with this battery pack use 800V architecture and can charge at 3C-4C, about 300kW-400kW. The price is approximately 300,000 yuan based on industry estimates.
In March 2021, Xiaomi Group officially announced its foray into car manufacturing, with plans to commence mass production of Xiaomi cars in the first quarter of 2024.
Regarding preparations for mass production, Xiaomi Automobile is establishing its factory. The factory in Yizhuang, Beijing, will have two phases and an annual vehicle output capacity of 300,000. Construction of the Phase 2 factory started in April 2021 and will finish by June this year. The passenger car production qualification issues that impacted Xiaomi are expected to undergo “significant changes” by the end of 2022.
