Apple has recently secured a new patent, registered as US 20230209880 A1, the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO). This patent hints at Apple’s plans to introduce borderless screens on its Macs and iPads.

Apple's New Patent

Apple’s New Patent, “Innovative Display with Light Bending Structure,” emphasizes the significance of size and weight when designing devices with full-screen displays. Apple recognizes that neglecting these factors could result in bulky devices with thick borders, compromising user experience.

To address this concern, Apple aims to enhance the display of its electronic devices. The patent abstract describes an electronic device with a display screen integrated into a housing. The collection comprises an array of pixels that project visual content to the user.

The active display structure consists of a rectangular arrangement of pixels enclosed by a passive frame composed of optical components like a glass sheet or other visual elements. The area occupied by the optical components exceeds that of the active display structure, thereby extending the display’s surface area.

By implementing this innovative approach. Apple aims to deliver devices with visually captivating, borderless screens while optimizing size and weight considerations.
