On June 27th, Gizcoupon reported that the RedMagic 8S Pro series flagship gaming smartphone would have its product launch event on July 5th at 15:00 (Beijing time). Today, the official channel warm-up the new device again, announcing that it will debut with the “Second Generation Snapdragon 8 Leading Edition” processor.
According to RedMagic, the “Second Generation Snapdragon 8 Leading Edition” CPU boasts a high core frequency of 3.36GHz. Gizcoupon has noticed that this processor should be the high-frequency version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Galaxy processor. It is featured in the flagship Samsung model, Galaxy S23 Ultra. The processor consists of 1 Cortex-X3 core, 2 Cortex-A715 cores, 2 Cortex-A710 cores, and 3 Cortex-A510 cores. However, the Cortex-X3 core operates at a clock frequency of 3.36GHz, instead of the standard version’s 3.19GHz. Additionally, the Adreno 740 GPU frequency has also been increased from 680 MHz to 719 MHz.
Earlier, there were reports suggesting that Samsung’s exclusivity period had ended. Nevertheless, the claim of RedMagic being the “first to debut” remains debatable, considering Samsung’s prior usage.
RedMagic 8S Pro Benchmark
According to a leak from Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, by the digital blogger @数码闲聊站, the RedMagic 8S Pro Series achieved a score of over 1.7 million on the AnTuTu benchmark V10, surpassing that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is worth noting that the RedMagic 8S Pro features an active cooling fan and various performance optimizations, leading to significant enhancements. Additionally, the device features an under-display front camera design. This makes it one of the few “true full-screen” smartphones this year.
According to @数码闲聊站, RedMagic will also release a gaming tablet this time. It will feature a Snapdragon 8+ processor and offer 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Furthermore, it will come with a 144Hz 2.8K display and a built-in 12,000mAh battery.
