On June 14th, Gizcoupon reported that Redmi, as a subsidiary brand of Xiaomi, had previously released a tablet product called Redmi Pad in October of last year. Now, the successor to this Pad is also on its way. According to the digital blogger @数码闲聊站, the new Redmi Pad will feature a 10.X-inch 2K LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will have a 5-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Additionally, the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor and will have an 8000mAh battery. It is positioned as an entry-level offering.
In comparison, the first-generation Redmi Pad had a screen size of 10.6 inches. It also featured a 2K display with a maximum 90Hz refresh rate. It had an 8000mAh built-in battery. Furthermore, the device was equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 processor. It also features LPDDR4X RAM + UFS 2.2 flash storage, supporting MicroSD card expansion up to 1TB.
As an entry-level product, the Redmi Pad was priced quite reasonably. The 4GB+128GB version was priced at 1099 yuan (about $153), while the 6GB+128GB version was priced at 1399 yuan (about $195). The pricing of the new Pad is expected to be similar to its predecessor.
