On May 6th, Gizcoupon reported that the official WeChat account of Nokia Bell (Chinese Social Platform) had announced the launch of its first 5G integrated drone solution, which has been certified by the EU CE.
According to the information obtained from the Nokia Bell official WeChat account, the 5G integrated drone solution includes a Nokia drone, docking station, dual-gimbal camera, and Nokia MXIE edge cloud processor. During operation, it connects through 4G/LTE and 5G networks, ensuring high reliability. In addition, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operation and real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning have enhanced its situational awareness.
Users can use the solution for remote search and rescue activities and evaluating damages in hazardous environments. Users can also program the drone for autonomous flight activities or use it for routine remote equipment inspections. The docking station protects the drone and the payload of sensor devices or dual-gimbal cameras from external dangers and adverse weather conditions. It can also remotely charge the drone in preparation for the next flight.
When used with Nokia MXIE, the data collected by the drone can be processed in real time in the edge cloud. The open API framework allows institutions and businesses to install pre-integrated Nokia and third-party applications and systems and achieve drone automation through various public safety and Industry 4.0 use cases, including object recognition, tracking, and network measurement.
