Usually, when we talk about smartphone brands, there are only up to 10 names that come to our minds. In fact, there are more than a dozen and a half smartphone brands. TCL is among them. We guess you are familiar with this brand due to its TVs and other home appliances. But this company also makes smartphones, and today, it released a new model called the Ion X. This handset launched in the global market comes with a retro design and a removable battery.

The new phone uses a 3000mAh removable battery. So you can keep a few batteries at hand to replace them when the one in the phone consumes power.
The TCL Ion X sports the low-end MediaTek Helio G25 octa-core processor. Though it has an entry-level positioning, it still supports a 4G network. The processor was released by MediaTek in June 2020. It adopts TSMC’s 12nm FinFET process technology and has an 8 Cortex-A53 CPU architecture. The frequency reaches 2.0GHz, and it integrates the 650MHz IMG PowerVR GE8320 graphics card.
The TCL Ion X smartphone has built-in 3GB LPDDR4X 1600MHz memory and 32GB eMMc 5.1 storage. But it supports up to 512GB TF card expansion.
In terms of screen, the machine comes with a 6.0-inch 720P LCD screen with a refresh rate of up to 60Hz.
As for photography, there is a 13-megapixel single camera on the back that supports video shooting at a frame rate of 30FPS at the highest 1080P quality. The front-facing 5-megapixel camera is good for video calls but not for high-res selfies.
The rest of the features include the Bluetooth 5.1 transmission protocol, a Type-C charging interface, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The TCL Ion X is already available for purchase globally at a price of $119.
