POCO is the third Xiaomi smartphone brand. Like Redmi, it doesn’t pay for research and development. Such an approach allows the brand to design smartphones that cost much less than rivals. That’s why POCO is considered the best option when taking into account the price-of-performance ratio. Not long ago, the POCO head hinted that the POCO X5 series would be released between January and February. But recently, the whistleblower @Yogesh Brar said that POCO X5 Pro would be released in the last week of this month. It will land in India first.
POCO X5 Pro specs
That’s not a secret that most POCO phones are the same Redmi and Mi smartphones going to different markets with different names. In this regard, it shouldn’t be surprising that the POCO X5 Pro is the same Redmi Note 12 Speed Edition. At least, they look identical in terms of hardware.
That is to say, this model will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor. It will be paired with LPDDR4X memory, UFS 2.2 flash storage, and a 5000mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging. The phone will also feature a 6.67-inch 2400×1080 OLED flexible straight screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
We guess the POCO X5 Pro will have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. At the same time, the handset should have a 16MP front-facing camera and a triple camera on the rear. The latter should include a 108MP rear main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor.
By the way, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is pre-installed with MIUI 14, and supports IP53 protection, NFC, infrared remote control, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The domestic price starts at 1699 yuan ($248). But we have no clue how much it will cost in India.
