Virtual reality is the future. All tech bigwigs are already investing heavily in this field. Even the Cupertino-based company started working on its own Apple VR headset long ago. That’s quite logical – metaverse is the new era that all we are going to live in. So most likely see more VR headsets in the coming months. For instance, today, Lenovo announced the launch of a VR headset designed specifically for the industrial metaverse. The new product is called the ThinkReality VRX. It is positioned as a “high-quality, multi-functional, and secure enterprise metaverse channel.”
Lenovo ThinkReality VRX specs
Inside, it hosts a Snapdragon XR platform. Also, the new ThinkReality VRX headset adopts a small form factor, pancake-style optics, and full-color, high-resolution signal pass-through for mixed reality applications. It also provides a full suite of end-to-end services for businesses. The latter includes consulting, content creation, cloud deployment, and customer support.
The VR headset comes with four front-facing cameras. They provide six or three degrees of freedom of content.
What’s more interesting, the headset can be used as a stand-alone device or plugged into a PC or workstation. Of course, this product supports cloud-based rendering solutions, such as NVIDIA CloudXR. Simply put, it can provide high-end, GPU-based performance. This is an ideal product for extended reality.
Lenovo is also partnering with leading enterprise software vendors to provide a Lenovo presence in Metaverse. We mean this company will use Metaverse to showcase products and solutions. Plus, this will become an ideal place for meeting and collaborating with partners and customers. Those who think these are just words, remember that the Samsung Galaxy S22 was introduced in the metaverse earlier this year.
Lastly, the ThinkReality VRX will offer early access to select partners in late 2022, with general availability expected in early 2023. Unfortunately, there is still no info on the pricing.
