iPhone 16 and 16 Plus Exposed: RAM Up to 8GB, Support Wi-Fi 6E

Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities, states that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will employ the A18 chip. However, he reports that the performance of these models will not match that of the Pro versions, despite incorporating the new A18 chip. This performance gap is due to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max using the more potent A18 Pro chip, although the specific differences are still unclear.

Moreover, Jeff Pu revealed that, in addition to adopting the A18 chip, both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will boast 8GB of RAM, a notable increase from the 6GB found in the iPhone15 and iPhone15 Plus. The media report that this augmented memory will enhance the iPhone’s multitasking capabilities.

Furthermore, the analyst anticipates the retention of 8GB of RAM in this year’s Pro models. If this forecast holds, all four iPhone 16 models for the year will feature 8GB of RAM.

Pu also mentioned that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will support Wi-Fi 6E, an exclusive feature in the iPhone 15 Pro model. Wi-Fi 6E promises swifter speeds, reduced latency, and an overall improvement in network performance compared to the currently supported Wi-Fi 6. Rumors suggest that the Pro models this year will support Wi-Fi 7, which was reportedly released last week with significant upgrades.

Additionally, the analyst disclosed that the iPhone16 and iPhone 16 Plus will incorporate the Qualcomm X70 modem, while the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone16 Pro Max will feature the Qualcomm X75 5G modem.

Jeff Pu emphasized once again that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature ultra-wide-angle cameras, with the resolution increasing significantly from 12 Megapixels to an impressive 48 Megapixels.
