7 Global Versions of Redmi Phones Will be Upgraded to HyperOS For The First Time

Xiaomi has gradually revealed the first and second batches of upgraded models for HyperOS. International media reports that Redmi brand smartphones in global markets will receive their first-ever upgrades to the HyperOS, with seven devices set to benefit from the update.

Redmi is expected to upgrade seven global models to the HyperOS first. These seven upcoming smartphone models include the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G/Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12S, Redmi 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 4G, Redmi Note 12 4G NFC, and Redmi 12C.

HyperOS For Redmi

The official MIUI X account has announced that the Xiaomi HyperOS global version will launch in the first quarter of 2024. Nevertheless, they have not officially announced a specific timetable, which has increased the anticipation of both users and the market.

Xiaomi developed HyperOS, an operating system that covers the “people, cars, and home” ecosystem and features a comprehensive architectural overhaul, over seven years. It now boasts a massive user base of 8.2 billion devices, making it the largest “bottom-layer reconstruction” in Xiaomi’s history. This operating system can dynamically configure firmware size based on hardware, with mobile firmware being only 8.75GB, earning it the title of the “smallest in the industry.”

It is worth mentioning that CCTV has highly praised Xiaomi’s self-developed innovation and global leadership in HyperOS, which undoubtedly provides significant encouragement to Chinese tech companies engaged in independent research and development. Huawei Harmony OS pioneered the development of a Chinese operating system, and Xiaomi HyperOS, developed over seven years with the input of over 5,000 developers, follows a similar path. Both are excellent operating systems, forming a “double insurance” for the industry’s needs and development.
