Redmi K80 Series Exposed: 2K Eye-Protecting Display and 5500mAh Battery

In November last year, Xiaomi launched the Redmi K70 series. Although it’s still early for the release of the next generation, details about the Redmi K80 series have started to emerge.

The Redmi K80 series is progressing rapidly. It will introduce two models: one with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the other with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Both models will feature a 2K eye-protecting display, metal frame, glass body, and a return to the 5500mAh large battery. He hinted earlier that they might scrap the K80E model.

It’s worth noting that the previous Redmi K70 phones came with a 5000mAh battery and supported 120W wired fast charging. If the leaks prove true, the new device is expected to further improve its battery life.

Referring to the Redmi K70 Pro, the previously released Redmi K70 featured a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and a 6.67-inch 3200×1440 BOE OLED flexible display. It had a manual peak brightness of 700nit, a full-screen peak brightness of 1200nit, and a local peak brightness of 4000nit, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone had a triple camera setup: 50MP main camera (Samsung GN5, 1/1.55″, OIS) + 8MP ultra-wide (OmniVision OV08D10) + 2MP macro (ST SC202PCS).

The Redmi K70 Pro, on the other hand, featured the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. In addition to the debut of the Samsung GN5 main camera, it also came with a 12MP ultra-wide (OmniVision OV13B10) + 50MP Samsung GN5 portrait telephoto (OmniVision OV50D40).
