POCO, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has launched a new entry-level smartphone, Poco C61, officially entering the Indian market. Designed for consumers seeking large displays, smooth performance, and long-lasting battery life, the phone offers an attractive price.
Equipped with a 6.71-inch display with a resolution of 1650 x 720 pixels, Poco C61 supports a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for better durability and drop resistance.
In terms of performance, the Poco C61 features the MediaTek Helio G36 processor, catering to everyday tasks like browsing, social media, and video watching. It comes in two configurations: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage or 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.
Although the rear camera module of the C61 adopts a design similar to high-end phones, its actual functionality is relatively basic. It includes an 8-megapixel main camera and an additional 80,000-pixel sensor. The front camera is 5 megapixels, suitable for selfies and video calls.
Furthermore, the Poco C61 includes side-mounted fingerprint recognition and retains the 3.5mm headphone jack. Storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot, and the 5000mAh battery ensures long-lasting usage. However, for some users, the 10W charging speed may seem a bit slow.
Finally, in terms of pricing, the Poco C61 starts at around 7,600 INR (about $90) (for the 4GB/64GB version). Overall, this entry-level smartphone performs well and is expected to do well in the Indian market.
