iPhone 16 Plus Battery Exposed: 4006mAh

A recent report outlined design changes to the regular iPhone 16 models, and another detailed a rumored “shoot button.” A reputable tipster claims Apple has improved the battery, but only on certain models. Sources reveal that the standard iPhone 16 and the top-of-the-range iPhone16 Pro Max will sport larger batteries. However, things might not be as positive for the iPhone 16 Plus. No details were provided about the iPhone16 Pro model by the tipster.

Model iPhone 15 series iPhone 16 series Change
Standard Edition 3,349 mAh 3,561 mAh +6%
Plus 4,383 mAh 4,006 mAh -9%
Pro Max 4,422 mAh 4,676 mAh +5%

Leaker Majin Bu stated on the X that “the new iPhone16 will have a 3561 mAh battery.” This is a significant upgrade from the iPhone 15, reportedly having a 3349 mAh battery. Since Apple doesn’t disclose battery sizes, we’ll never be sure.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is also rumored to have a slightly larger battery. Majin Bu mentioned that the iPhone 15 Pro Max had a 4441 mAh battery, while the upcoming model “should have a 4676 mAh battery.” Unlike its predecessor, this device’s battery is not “L” shaped; Apple reportedly made internal changes to fit a rectangular battery.

Interestingly, Apple might reduce the battery size of the iPhone 16 Plus. The iPhone previously had a 4383 mAh battery, which is said to have decreased to 4006 mAh.
