At Huawei’s winter all-scenario press conference, the company unveiled the Nova 12 series, comprising the Huawei Nova 12 Ultra, Nova 12 Pro, and Nova 12. These models are competitively priced, starting at 2,999 Yuan (about $423).
Design
Huawei’s Nova series consistently aims to craft unique mobile devices for the youth market. The Nova 12 series, in particular, incorporates luxury print elements, elevating them through innovative plain leather embossing technology. This seamless blend of artisanship and the soft, lambskin-like feel of the leather, combined with the star logo embossment, gives the phone a chic, fashionable vibe. Furthermore, the plain leather back panel and the elegant metal ring add to its trendy appeal.
The plain leather features the elegantly inscribed Nova brand logo. It resonates with the brand loyalty of Nova users and reflects the cultural confidence of the younger generation. Additionally, the logo showcases the unique identity of Nova. In color design, the Huawei Nova 12 series employs the striking high-saturation color No. 12. This bold color choice, paired with the plain leather, grants the series a dazzling, fashionable look that captivates the eye.
Features
The Huawei Nova 12 Ultra comes in color No. 12, gold black, and smoke gray. It features the integrated plain leather embossing process and a newly designed star ring around the rear lens. For front-facing imaging, the Nova 12 Ultra has a 60MP tracking focus lens and an 8MP portrait lens, powered by Huawei’s XD Portrait Engine. This setup offers three portrait themes: native, texture, and makeup.
The rear camera of the Nova 12 Ultra has been upgraded with a second-generation variable aperture, featuring a 50 MP RYYB sensor. The device also includes bi-directional Beidou satellite messaging and sports a 6.76-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s protected by second-generation Kunlun glass and supports air gestures, smart payment, and the innovative smart magic cutout function, all running on HarmonyOS 4.
