Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB Arrives: Starting Price 449,900 Yuan

On December 14, Mercedes-Benz officially launched its latest extended-wheelbase E-Class, priced between 449,000 and 529,800 yuan (about $63287 to $74676). While the new models see a price hike of RMB 8,900-25,700 compared to their predecessors. The pre-sale prices are notably lower. The latest iteration is based on the global standard-axle version. It has a significantly elongated body and wheelbase, surpassing the dimensions of the previous long-wheelbase model.

The fresh E-Class introduces two distinct appearance packages. The sedan variant showcases a prominent grille and a vertical logo design, coupled with refined front and rear bumpers. Meanwhile, the sports sedan opts for a night star grille and comes equipped with an AMG sports package, exuding a more robust and athletic aesthetic. Additionally, the new vehicle features digital headlights, a star ring grille, and taillights seamlessly integrated into the decorative design of the three-pointed star logo.

Turning attention to the interior, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class adopts the MBUX super screen fusion wraparound cockpit design. This configuration comprises a 14.4-inch central control screen and a 12.3-inch passenger screen, incorporating the third-generation MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system. Notably, it stands as one of the initial luxury brand models equipped with the Qualcomm 8295 smart cockpit chip.

Beyond enhancements in interior and exterior aesthetics, the new E-Class incorporates considerate designs for luxurious rear-seat features. It comes equipped with rear electrically adjustable seats that can recline up to 36 degrees, extended seat cushions and leg rests, as well as opulent headrests featuring neck heating functions. Furthermore, the new model offers amenities such as continuous surround ambient lighting and wireless charging.

Under the hood, all variants of the new E-Class series feature M254 series 2.0T engines with a 48V mild hybrid system. The updated model has power and torque across the board compared to its predecessor. All models come with a 9AT gearbox, and the 2.0T low-power variant also includes a 4MATIC four-wheel drive system.
