Xiaomi Wi-Fi 7 Firmware Upgrade For Xiaomi 10G Router And Other Products

Both the Xiaomi 10G Router and the Xiaomi Router BE7000 are undergoing the initiation of the Wi-Fi 7 firmware upgrade. The firmware version for the Xiaomi 10G Router is now 1.1.6.

Update Summary:

While the Xiaomi 10G router doesn’t support the 6GHz frequency band, it does boast an additional Wi-Fi 7 function known as MLO. MLO necessitates the activation of multiple frequencies. Devices supporting MLO can connect to Wi-Fi across various frequency bands, albeit with a restriction of a single IP for increased connection speed.

Xiaomi made an official announcement on November 27, confirming the Wi-Fi 7 certification for its router products. Xiaomi is launching the Xiaomi 10G Router, Xiaomi Router BE7000, and Xiaomi Router BE6500 Pro on December 30. The firmware upgrade has been rolled out in advance. Users can access the router management plug-in – Upgrade Assistant in the Mijia App to review the upgrade log and perform manual updates. Alternatively, they can enable the “Auto Update” switch in the upper right corner of the Upgrade Assistant page to accept automatic upgrades pushed by Xiaomi.

According to Xiaomi officials, Wi-Fi 7 represents more than just increased speed; it embodies a systematic improvement in overall user experience. With features like multi-channel connections, dynamic optimization, lower latency, and enhanced anti-interference capabilities, Wi-Fi 7 opens up vast possibilities for future entertainment and office work.

Lei Jun, in a previous Weibo statement, asserted that the Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro’s Wi-Fi functionality is the most robust in Xiaomi’s history. Although China lacks open Wi-Fi 7 certification, it will activate the WiFi 7 functionality once authenticated.
