Porsche Panamera Unveiled: Three Models with Starting at 1.038 Million Yuan

Porsche revealed the new Panamera in Shanghai, marking its world premiere. Initially, the car will be available in three models.

In terms of exterior changes, the new Panamera places emphasis on the front face, taillights, and intricate details. The front face showcases a larger air intake grille, featuring more three-dimensional lines for a more powerful appearance. Transitioning to the rear, the taillights adopt a concise through-type design. Noteworthy are the small details, such as gun-gray decorative parts, contributing to a retro and sporty feel. Regarding dimensions, the body measures 5,052 mm in length (5,202 mm for the Executive Extended Version), 1,937 mm in width, and 1,423 mm in height (1,428 mm for the Executive Extended Version).

The LCD instrument now sits in front, removing the upper blockage, and a small lever on the right side of the steering wheel, similar to the 911, serves as the gear selector. The central control storage space has received an augmentation, and for added convenience, you can choose to install a 10.9-inch entertainment screen in the passenger seat. The materials and stitching exhibit increased sophistication.

Both the Panamera and Panamera 4 models have a 2.9T V6 engine with 260 kW (353 Ps) power and 500 N·m torque. The basic Panamera does 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, while the Panamera 4 does 40-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The new Porsche Panamera offers three plug-in hybrid models with a 4.0T V8 and a 140 kW (190 Ps) motor, delivering 500 kW (680 Ps) power and 930 N·m torque. The hybrid model accelerates 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, has a 25.9 kWh battery capacity, and a WLTP electric range of 91 km.

The new Panamera includes a standard dual-chamber, dual-valve air suspension. This system is equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). Moreover, the E-Hybrid model provides an optional Porsche Active Ride active suspension. This system combines hydraulic pressure and a single-chamber air spring.

Pricing

Panamera priced at 1.038 million yuan (about $146308), Panamera Executive Extended Version at 1.158 million yuan (about $163222), and Panamera 4 Executive Extended Version at 1.228 million yuan (about $173089). The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid’s price will be disclosed during the 2024 Beijing Auto Show.
