DXOMARK, the evaluation organization, has recently released the screen score for the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. The main screen of this device ranks 28th globally with a score of 139.
One of the best domestically produced foldable screens on this list is the MIX Fold 3, leading with a score of 140. According to DXO, the overall display performance of the MIX Fold 3 is commendable, showing a significant improvement compared to its predecessor. Despite its limited maximum brightness, the inclusion of an anti-reflective film allows for better readability even in bright environments, minimizing the visual impact of screen creases to a great extent. Furthermore, when viewing the device screen from various angles, both color and brightness performance are excellent. Gaming on this device does not experience frame drops.
However, DXO notes that the video performance of the MIX Fold 3 lags behind that of similar devices. It struggles to adjust brightness and contrast effectively, resulting in insufficient brightness and detail when watching HDR10 videos. In outdoor environments, skin tone rendering is also less natural.
DXO also mentions that the device’s touch functionality has a slightly longer response time, and prolonged touches at the screen edges and corners lead to sluggish responsiveness and lower touch accuracy. It is worth noting that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is Xiaomi’s most expensive flagship currently available, addressing the shortcomings of its predecessor and upgrading features such as Leica imaging. It stands as the most powerful foldable-screen phone in the market. During the unveiling, Lei Jun expressed that when closed, the experience rivals that of the iPhone, and when unfolded, it aims to be the best foldable screen device.
