During his address, Jin Hailong pointed out that the collaboration between Panasonic and Xiaomi began in the lighting sector in 2021 and later expanded to air conditioning in June 2023. Despite negotiations in the air conditioning field starting in 2018, it took a full five years for Panasonic and Xiaomi to finally reach a collaboration agreement.

In August of this year, Panasonic successfully launched the first Xiaomi air conditioner product, followed by the release of the first Xiaomi refrigerator in September. The two companies will further collaborate in various household product categories to offer users a more comprehensive smart living solution.

As previously reported, in June of this year, the Xiaomi Group’s Home Appliance Air Conditioning Division and Air Conditioner signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Both parties will share resources in the research, development, production, and manufacturing of air conditioning products, forming a multi-level, multi-domain strategic partnership.

In an interview, Panasonic Holdings President Kazuhiro Tsuga explicitly stated, “If we were to withdraw from the intense competition in the Chinese market, it would mean withdrawing globally,” emphasizing their determination to consider China as one of the most crucial regions and to continue investing. This statement underscores the commitment to viewing China as one of the most significant regions and to ongoing investments.
