Xiaomi recently unveiled the Xiaomi Router 6500 Pro, its 10th-anniversary innovation. In addition, it will officially go on sale tonight, with a starting price of just 699 yuan (about $95).
Xiaomi Router 6500 Pro Equipped with a Qualcomm 4-core A53 architecture chip running at 1.5GHz and offering a computing power of 13800DMips, it also comes with 1GB of onboard memory. The device provides four 2.5G network ports, supports dual WAN and dual LAN aggregation, and delivers a total wireless rate of 6454Mbps. This includes 5G support for 4×4 160MHz and 2.4G support for 2×2 40MHz.
The integration of a central gateway represents the most significant innovation. Even when the network is disconnected, it empowers smart home devices to operate locally. This addresses the previous Wi-Fi smart home’s major drawback. Additionally, features like Mesh and NFC are still available, offering flagship-level functionality.
We should mention the Xiaomi Router 6500 Pro because it’s named Router 6500 Pro, omitting the “AX” designation. This implies potential support for the Wi-Fi 7 specification, although it hasn’t received official confirmation because Wi-Fi 7 is not yet available in China. Xiaomi may unlock it through OTA updates in the future.
