On October 25th, the 2023 Snapdragon Summit featured an early morning meeting where Xiaomi’s Lu Weibing unveiled the Xiaomi 14. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor equips this groundbreaking device, promising a fresh experience in terms of appearance design and color selection.
According to Lu Weibing, the Xiaomi 14 standard edition will offer consumers four color choices: white, green, pink, and black. While Xiaomi has not disclosed the specific official names for these options, the released images make it apparent that the Xiaomi14 features an oversized black rectangular camera module with a straight-edge design. Xiaomi employs a micro-arc transition in the connection between the back shell and the middle frame, seemingly aiming to enhance the device’s tactile qualities.
Regarding the screen, the Xiaomi 14 boasts a 6.36-inch display with a compact straight design, ultra-thin borders, classic vertical edges, and a Paris stud texture design. These elements collectively contribute to an improved visual experience for users.
Furthermore, Xiaomi 14 introduces the “Light and Shadow Hunter” sensor for the first time, incorporating a sizable 1/1.31-inch base size, 1.2μm single pixels, and 2.4μm fused large pixels. The official announcement states that the entire series will have a 75mm floating telephoto lens and a Leica Optical Summilux lens, which promise enhanced light input, quicker shutter responses, superior blurring capabilities, and a more pristine performance in night scenes.
