Xiaomi today unveiled a new image sensor brand, “Light and Shadow Hunter,” which will be initially incorporated into the Xiaomi 14 series of smartphones.
The “Light and Shadow Hunter” is a professionally tailored, high-dynamic image sensor designed for the mobile optical era. It features an ultra-large 1/1.31-inch bottom sensor size with 1.2μm individual pixels and 2.4μm large pixel fusion. The company claims that this sensor boasts an impressive 13.5EV high dynamic range, providing more realistic colors and richer details in lighting and shadows. Moreover, it reduces power consumption by 42% while delivering extended battery life, enhancing creative freedom.
In previous teasers, Xiaomi 14 also officially confirmed its inclusion of a Leica optical Summilux lens. According to the official statement, it offers “a larger light intake, faster shutter response, outstanding blurring capability, and purer low-light performance.” The poster reveals that this lens features an f/1.6 extra-wide aperture, significantly increasing light intake. It also utilizes multi-layer nano ALD ultra-low anti-reflective coating with a low reflectance of just 0.15%.
