Tesla Cybertruck Confirmed to Be Equipped with 800V Architecture

Musk emphasized during Tesla’s third-quarter shareholder meeting that the Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup truck will feature an 800V architecture when it starts delivery on November 30. He stated, “For very heavy-duty vehicles, high-voltage powertrains integrated architecture can provide significant cost savings, which is why Cybertruck will adopt an 800V architecture.”

From a cost perspective, the 800V architecture reduces the vehicle’s copper content and weight, thus enhancing performance and extending battery life. Simultaneously, the first batch of Cybertruck models will be delivered at the Gigafactory in Texas, USA, on November 30, local time, and production will commence fully at the factory next year.

Moreover, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website has made the Tesla Cybertruck VIN decoder available, revealing its configuration and weight. The decoder displays dual-motor and three-motor versions of the Cybertruck. The eighth digit of the VIN indicates the power system configuration, where ‘D’ corresponds to a dual-motor model, and ‘E’ designates a three-motor model.

The vehicle’s gross weight falls into two categories: Class G, which ranges between 8,001 and 9,000 pounds, and Class H, which spans between 9,001 and 10,000 pounds. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
