Xiaomi and Lei Jun recently released news on their official Weibo account to generate excitement for the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series. The focus is on the photography capabilities of these mobile phones, and they will officially release this month.
As per the official introduction, the Xiaomi 14 series will feature Leica Summilux lenses for the first time, combined with a new professional high-dynamic image sensor for mobile optics. This combination aims to create a “new generation optical system solution.”
Hailed as “the most perfect lens in the field of mobile imaging so far,” this Leica lens will enable mobile devices to have “super strong instantaneous and accurate capture capabilities in all situations and scenes,” according to the official description.
Before this, various sources had already disclosed that Xiaomi’s Mi 14 series mobile phones would incorporate this lens series. Leica has traditionally used different logos to distinguish the positioning of its various lens products. For instance, the well-known “50 2AA” lens by Leica bears the “Summicron” logo, while the “Apo-Summicron 50 F2 Asph” lens places greater emphasis on the lens “sharpness,” corresponding to an aperture of F2.
Previously, mobile phones like the Xiaomi 12/13 series and Leitz Phone 1/2 also featured the “Summicron” mark to emphasize lens sharpness, and the Xiaomi mobile phone series included a “Vario” prefix to indicate its lenses’ zoom capabilities.
