On September 21, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Projector 2 series, including two models: the Redmi Projector 2 and the Redmi Projector 2 Pro, priced at 999 yuan(about $137) and 1,399 yuan(about $192), respectively. These projectors are available in green and sand colors. In our testing, we measured the Redmi Projector 2’s brightness at 180 CVIA lumens. This projector features an omnidirectional correction AI algorithm, an integrated zoom motor, and power-on autofocus. Both models have a custom optical engine and a high-definition ultra-transparent lens with a 10-year lifespan.
In terms of resolution, the Redmi Projector 2 offers 1080P resolution with a throw ratio of 1.2:1, enabling 100-inch projection in small spaces. Both projectors have built-in dual speakers and use WANOS China’s virtual sound field encoding technology.
The Redmi Projector 2 Pro has greater brightness and employs a self-polishing mechanism to increase brightness by 50%. They use customized aspherical lenses for improved visuals, achieving 300 CVIA lumens brightness, 1080P resolution, and a 1.2:1 throw ratio, certified by SGS.
Additionally, the Redmi Projector 2 Pro includes a TOF laser sensing module, a high-definition camera, and an AI algorithm for screen adjustment. The intelligent adaptive system and six-axis gyroscope enhance correction efficiency.
The Redmi Projector 2 series both support the Mijia APP, allowing integration with smart home devices like lighting and curtains. In movie mode, they can automatically adjust lights and curtains for a better cinematic experience. Voice control is integrated into the remote, enabling content requests and playback control through voice commands, enhancing the movie-watching experience.
