Lu Weibing, from Xiaomi Group, announced a feature of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ in an active voice, stating that it supports IP68 dustproof and waterproof capabilities. This revelation surprised many rice fans, who were not expecting a mid-range phone to offer such protection. One rice fan even exclaimed, “How can our friends handle this?”
Lu Weibing highlighted three main reasons for the rarity of IP68 certification: difficult manufacturing, high production costs, and strict quality standards. To attain IP68 certification, collaboration among industrial partners is essential across areas like components, design, production, testing, and compliance. The process is time-consuming and demands substantial investment in meeting these standards.
In addition to the IP68 feature, the Redmi Note13 Pro+ boasts other specifications. It adopts a curved screen solution and has a slim chin design, measuring just 2.37mm in thickness. Moreover, it comes equipped with Corning Gorilla Victus glass, offering better resistance to falls and scratch resistance.
Furthermore, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ features a 200-megapixel rear main camera, setting a new standard in smartphone photography. Redmi collaborated with Samsung to develop a custom 200-megapixel sensor called the HP3 Discovery Edition. This sensor delivers image quality and captures minute details in images. Redmi has reduced the time it takes to capture an image in the 200-megapixel ultra-clear mode, allowing users to “press the shutter to capture in seconds.” Lu Weibing emphasized that the Redmi Note 13 Pro series hosts a 200-megapixel lens in Note history, making it the industry’s fastest 200-megapixel ultra-clear camera.
