Xiaomi recently released the Xiaomi Sound smart speaker, which has been available for quite some time. Moreover, the Xiaomi Sound 2023 Smart Speaker has recently undergone a relatively unique minor update and has been replaced with the 2023 version in Xiaomi Mall.
Despite being an iteration, the new version of Xiaomi Sound brings only minor changes. The primary differences lie in the button backlight and the inclusion of the NFC music relay. The top cover of the new version has undergone a fresh manufacturing process, making it resemble the Pro version more closely. It now features illuminated buttons, which enhance the convenience of direct touch operation. Additionally, it comes equipped with an NFC tag beneath the top cover, enabling music relay with a single touch.
Regarding other specifications, there is almost no disparity between the old and new versions. The design remains the same, featuring a 2.25-inch full-range 12W speaker and 2× passive radiator. The sound quality theoretically remains unchanged, so for those who have recently purchased the older model, there is no need to worry about feeling “outdated.”
Xiaomi Sound 2023 Smart Speaker has been launched on September 14, and the price is 499 yuan (about $68).
