Xiaomi Car Trunk Revealed, Looks Like Buds 4 Pro Headphone

Recently, spy photos circulating on the internet have unveiled the trunk of the Xiaomi Car. The rear design bears a striking resemblance to the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro earphone case, featuring a substantial USB-C charging port upon opening the trunk cover. This design choice has sparked fervent debates among netizens, with some humorously suggesting that Xiaomi’s earphone department might be moonlighting as car designers.

As reported by Zhichepai, Xiaomi’s inaugural foray into the automotive industry takes the form of a medium-sized to medium-to-large coupe with a coupe-style body. It incorporates contemporary trends like concealed door handles, a sleek fastback rear, and frameless windows. Moreover, the Xiaomi Car Trunk roof boasts lidar technology, promising advanced intelligent driving assistance capabilities in the future. In terms of energy efficiency, Xiaomi’s cars consume a mere 8.8 kWh per 100 kilometers.

Previously, the media had reported that Xiaomi Motors was slated to obtain approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology within the next two months, or at the very latest, by the year’s end, marking the green light for mass production. This imminent development implies that Xiaomi Motors will soon secure dual certificates, resolving the bottleneck issue.

Currently, Xiaomi has initiated internal trial production, churning out approximately 50 prototypes weekly. Simultaneously, Xiaomi Automobile’s Yizhuang facility is actively recruiting a substantial workforce for its workshops, with about 100 positions available for immediate employment.
