During the IFA 2023 exhibition, Transsion introduced a novel laptop named the TECNO MEGABOOK S1 Dazzling Edition. This notebook incorporates “polychromatic photoisomer” technology, marking a significant milestone as the world’s inaugural laptop with a dynamic color-shifting surface.
TECNO MEGABOOK S1 Dazzling Edition Features
The TECNO MEGABOOK S1 Dazzling Edition is strategically positioned for both business and creative purposes, boasting attributes such as a sleek and lightweight design along with an edge-to-edge display. Transsion has explained that this innovative technology allows a typically monochromatic surface to morph into various colors when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) rays from sunlight. Consequently, users have the flexibility to customize the laptop’s appearance to suit their preferences.
Please note that, as of now, we have not yet made this notebook available for purchase, and it remains in the conceptual stage. In contrast, we released the standard TECNO MEGABOOK S1 towards the end of the previous year, featuring a slim profile measuring 13.5mm in thickness and weighing 1.35 kilograms. We power the device with a 12th-generation Core processor and include a 15.6-inch 3.2K 120Hz display. It’s worth highlighting that Transsion has previously implemented this remarkable technology in their mobile phones.
TECNO CAMON 19 Pro Features
The TECNO CAMON 19 Pro Mondrian smartphone, launched in July of the prior year, also features the same “polychromatic light isomer” technology. Additionally, Transsion’s TECNO brand has reserved a range of color-changing technologies. Company officials showcased the Chameleon Coloring Technology during the MWC 2023 conference. This technology can integrate into various devices, such as the rear panels of smartphones, enabling users to effortlessly generate a diverse array of color patterns with a simple press of a button.
TECNO has described the Chameleon coloring technology as a comprehensive, electronically controlled prism coloring technology that utilizes a grid of sub-micron prism materials. These materials change their orientation when subjected to an electric field, thereby refracting light across multiple wavelengths and producing an extensive spectrum of iridescent colors with precision control.
