Xiaomi Automobile Registering “xiaomiev.com” Domain Name Confirmed

Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. recently registered the website domain name “xiaomiev.com,” further indicating the company’s development plans in the field of electric vehicles. Established in September 2021, Lei Jun serves as its legal representative, and the company boasts a registered capital of 10 billion yuan. Its primary business scope encompasses technology development, manufacturing of new energy vehicles, research and development of automobile technologies and components, as well as the production of road motor vehicles, among others. Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. entirely owns the company.

China’s state planning authority has granted approval to Xiaomi to manufacture electric vehicles, according to two well-informed sources. This marks a significant stride toward the company’s objective of “producing cars early next year.”

Recently, several netizens encountered four meticulously camouflaged Xiaomi cars on the Urumqi-Changji Urban Expressway and captured photographs. Correspondingly, both Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, and Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group, have Weibo IP addresses that place them in Xinjiang. Lei Jun’s sharing of desert images also sparked speculation about conducting high-temperature tests on Xiaomi cars.

At the Xiaomi Investor Day in October 2021, Lei Jun announced that Xiaomi cars would officially enter mass production in the first half of 2024. In May 2023, Lu Weibing announced that Xiaomi had exceeded expectations with its progress and had now rescheduled the official launch for the first half of 2024.

These pieces of news underscore Xiaomi’s active promotion of its electric vehicle plan, steadily advancing toward the goal of achieving mass production and eventual listing. Additionally, the domain name xiaomiev.com is confirmed.
