AirPods Max Users Sue Apple Over Earcups Prone to Condensation Water

As reported on August 23, several Apple AirPods Max users took to social media to express their concern about the emergence of condensation on the earmuffs of the headphones caused by sweat. This issue has led to consequential problems and potential damage to the headphones.

This problem with AirPods Max has persisted for more than just a few days. At the time, Apple’s recommended solution was to gently blot the moisture on the earmuffs using a clean paper towel. Interestingly, the condensation issue, triggered by an influx of water, has escalated into a class-action lawsuit in California. The situation is currently under negotiation between the plaintiffs and Apple, as reported by 404 Media. Apple’s official statement, provided to 404 Media, clarified that, unlike other false claims, the AirPods earmuffs are both magnetically secured and detachable. With proper usage, the AirPods Max should not encounter this issue.

A previous instance reported by the Mobilesyrup editor aligns with these concerns. After utilizing AirPods in warmer conditions, the editor discovered a considerable amount of condensation on both earmuffs. This accumulation of moisture disrupted the cooling function and resulted in a persistent buzzing sound.
