StarLabs Unveils StarLite 5 Linux Tablet With 12.5-Inch Display

Star Labs, a British hardware company, has revealed the StarLite 5 Linux tablet. It features a 12.5-inch screen with 10-point touch powered by IPS technology. The display has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a sharp 2880×1920 pixel resolution.

Driving the tablet’s performance is the Intel Alder Lake N200 processor. It’s a quad-core CPU initially clocked at 1.0GHz, with the potential to be overclocked to 3.70GHz. The processor has 6MB of Smart Cache for multitasking support. The tablet also boasts 16GB of 4800MHz LPDDR5 onboard memory.

 

For storage, the StarLite 5 has a 512GB third-generation PCIe solid-state drive. You can choose to upgrade to 1TB or 2TB for more storage space.

The tablet offers various connectivity options, including Micro HDMI, two USB Type-C 3.2 ports with 65W power delivery, a Micro SD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The StarLite 5 supports multiple operating systems such as Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, elementary OS 6.1, Linux Mint 21, Manjaro 21.3.7, MX Linux 21.1, and Zorin OS 16.1. It also supports Windows 11 22H1 (64-bit) or newer.

In terms of price, the standard version costs 3285 yuan (about $453). This makes the StarLite 5 a versatile and high-performance tablet suitable for work and play.
