Xiaomi’s latest product line was unveiled at the Beijing National Convention Center. Lei Jun, Xiaomi Group’s founder, chairman, and CEO, addressed the audience during his fourth annual public discourse. This occasion also marked the debut of a range of new offerings. One of these products released yesterday, the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro, features a 1.74-inch AMOLED display. With a 60Hz refresh rate, 600 nits of brightness, and a pixel density of 336PPI, this iteration raises the bar. Compared to its predecessor, the Mi Band 7 Pro, there’s an 18% increase in viewing area, enhancing practical applications.
The larger screen brings advantages. Moreover, functions such as weather updates and calendar scheduling have been revamped. These changes provide extra information, improving daily usage. Additionally, new widgets enable easy customization with a swipe, allowing users to tailor features like sports monitoring, health tracking, weather updates, financial transactions, and music controls.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro introduces over 200 fashion dials. The dials have customizable parts, allowing personalization. The device comes in three durable models: TPU, with color choices like Yueye Black, Coconut Gray, and Harbor Blue Leather. A quick-release mechanism enables easy swapping of wristbands—Milanese, genuine leather, and woven options. This versatility suits different styles and occasions.
Functionality-wise, the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro has a dual-channel monitoring module, improving signal transmission and data collection. This advancement results in precise sports and health monitoring. Algorithm optimizations enhance accuracy and performance, making monitoring reliable. Improvements include a 10% heart rate accuracy and a 5% increase in blood oxygen saturation precision compared to the Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro. Ongoing algorithm refinements ensure data accuracy. The device covers various health aspects, including all-day heart rate, blood oxygen, scientific sleep analysis, stress monitoring, breathing exercises, women’s health management, and real-time health alerts.
The Xiaomi Band 8 Pro and its accessories are available on China E-commerce Platforms like Mi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, JD.com, Tmall, Suning, Pinduoduo, and Douyin. Pricing starts at 399 yuan (about $55), with the Harbor Blue variant at 449 yuan (about $61). Additional offerings include TPU sports wristbands for 39 yuan (about $5.38), woven leather wristbands for 99 yuan (about $13.67), and Milanese wristbands for 199 yuan (about $27.47).
