DJI OSMO Action 4 Appeared With 1/1.3 Inch CMOS Sensor

DJI has launched many new products this year, especially the aerial cameras ranging from the most entry-level Mini 2 SE to the high-end Mavic 3 Pro. Among them, the Air 3 seems to have not been seen for a long time. However, DJI said it would release a new product on July 25th. I believe it will be the long-awaited Air 3. While maintaining a lightweight appearance, it will also provide the dual-lens recording capabilities of the Mavic 3. With the spy photos of the Osmo Action 4 action camera that has just been exposed, it seems that DJI will have a lot of fun in the next few months.

As for the leaked spy photos, it also includes the DJI Osmo Action 4 sports camera. The appearance design of the new DJI OSMO Action 4 is similar to the current Osmo Action 3. Rumors suggest it will use a 1/1.3″ CMOS sensor. Action 3 claims it’s 1/1.7″ CMOS. It will have a 155-degree diagonal F2.8 aperture ultra-wide-angle lens. This setup enables 4K60p ultra-high-definition and 4K120p slow-motion recording capability.

The RockSteady anti-vibration algorithm can correspond to 360-degree rotation to stabilize the picture level. In addition, it is rumored that the bare-bones DJI Osmo Action 4 will be waterproof up to 18 meters, an improvement over the current 16 meters.

According to DJI’s promo photos, this drone, temporarily called a pseudo-Air 3, will use a dual-lens design. However, it’s rumored that the Air 3’s dual lenses will only be fitted with a 1/3″ 48-megapixel CMOS sensor to distinguish it from the higher-end Mavic 3 and the Mavic 3 Classic. The first lens is a 24mm F1.7 equivalent, while the other is a medium telephoto lens with a 70mm F2.8 equivalent, supporting 3x digital zoom.

The Air 3 has impressive filming features. It offers 4K100p recording capability and supports D-LOG M. It also has direct recording and a built-in 4G communication module. The DJI O4 image transmission system allows a maximum transmission distance of 20 kilometers. With standard batteries, the flight time can be up to 46 minutes.
