On June 26th, Gizcoupon reported that Apple is preparing for the release of the upcoming iPhone 15 series, scheduled for this autumn.
According to the latest research report from DSCC, a consulting firm specializing in the display supply chain, the panel orders for the iPhone 15 in June 2023 are expected to be 100% higher than the panel orders for the iPhone 14 during the same period last year. This indicates that the supply situation is better this year than the previous year. Apple can produce more of the new iPhone models before their release.
Furthermore, DSCC has also found that the proportion of Pro models in the panel orders for the iPhone 15 series is higher than that of the iPhone 14 series during the same period last year. The report states, “Between June and July, the Pro models account for 58% of the panel shipments for the iPhone 15 series. Whereas the iPhone 14 Pro model only accounted for 43% during the same period last year.”
Meanwhile, DSCC has observed a 22% decrease in panel shipments for the iPhone 14 series in June compared to the same period last year for the iPhone 13 series.
The emphasis on iPhone 15 Pro orders reflects Apple’s need to adjust its product lineup after the significant demand for the iPhone 14 Pro following its release last autumn. According to Gizcoupon, the demand for the iPhone 14 Pro exceeded Apple’s expectations.
