On June 20th, Gizcoupon reported that a post in the Xiaomi Community by “MIUI 小米粥,” who is certified as part of the phone department, announced that the third batch of models for the MIUI 14 operating system had been fully rolled out. Simultaneously, certain outdated and redundant features of the Xiaomi MIUI 14 operating system are being phased out, with the completion of these removals scheduled gradually through subsequent self-upgrades and OTA versions.
Furthermore, removing outdated and redundant features aims to optimize system performance by reducing unnecessary system occupancy. Additionally, it enhances system availability and user experience. However, it is currently unclear whether this operation targets all models.
MIUI 14 is a new MIUI system launched by Xiaomi in December 2022. Moreover, in this system, Xiaomi is implementing the “Razor Plan,” targeting bloated system firmware, system memory consumption, and uninstallable applications to create a lightweight smartphone system.
