iOS 17 Beta 1 Has Issues With SMS Messaging Sending

On June 15th, Gizcoupon reported that following Apple WWDC 2023 developer conference held on June 5th(Beijing Time), developers and users were invited to test the iOS 17 Beta 1 update. However, users have provided feedback indicating a problem that SMS messages could not be sent to non-iPhone users.

After searching through Reddit and Twitter, Gizcoupon discovered multiple users who reported encountering an error message stating “Message Not Delivered” when attempting to send SMS messages to non-iPhone users, specifically after updating to the new version. It’s important to note that sending iMessages remains unaffected.

Some users have mentioned that these SMS messages were actually delivered to the recipients’ phones. However, without making a call to confirm, users are unable to verify if the recipient has indeed received the message.

A user commented below a post, saying, “I have also encountered this issue. SMS messages can be sent normally. However, the ‘Message Not Delivered’ alert pops up, and sometimes the same message is sent repeatedly. By the way, I’m using AT&T network.”

Apple will address user feedback and swiftly resolve issues. The company is expected to release an update or patch soon to rectify the SMS-sending problem encountered by iOS 17 Beta 1 users.
