On June 13th, Gizcoupon reported that Apple recently unveiled the all-new MacBook Air 15” with the M2 chip at WWDC23. This brings good news to users who appreciate a larger screen and also value portability. Gizcoupon has obtained the first batch of Apple MacBook Air 15‘’ in China. Without further ado, let’s present you with a series of unboxing photos.
Previously, the MacBook Air 13” with the M2 chip featured a new design, and naturally, this MacBook Air 15” follows suit. The laptop has a rounded and sleek appearance, maintaining consistency with the design of the MacBook Pro.
The unit obtained by Gizcoupon is in Stardust color, with a subtle hint of gold shining through the white. It is neither dull nor ostentatious, making it visually pleasing.
In terms of the overall design, there is not much difference compared to the previous MacBook Air, as it remains almost identical. The A-side features a glossy metallic logo, presenting a minimalist aesthetic.
Opening the laptop, you can see that the Apple MacBook Air 15” still adopts the notch screen design. The shape of the notch is slightly more square than that of the iPhone, and the screen bezels are relatively narrow. However, the bottom bezel still has a slight border, making it slightly thicker.
The C-side of the laptop comprises the keyboard and trackpad area. Due to the increased size of the overall device, the keyboard area is more spacious compared to the 13-inch model. However, there are no speaker openings on either side, giving a sense that something is missing.
At the top right of the keyboard area is a power key with an integrated Touch ID.
Turning to the back of the product, the MacBook Air 15” maintains its usual simplicity. It features only four screw holes and four flat rubber feet.
As for the ports, the Apple MacBook Air 15” remains as exquisite as ever. It provides a MagSafe 3 magnetic charging port and two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports on the left side of the device. Additionally, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the right side.
The dimensions of the MacBook Air 15” measure 34.04×23.76×1.15cm, with a weight of just 1.51kg. It is still relatively lightweight and thin, although it sacrifices some portability compared to the MacBook Air 13”. Nevertheless, the experience brought by the larger screen is irreplaceable.
Furthermore, the new MacBook Air is crafted from 100% recycled aluminum alloy for its body. In everyday use, it feels no different from the regular aluminum alloy in terms of texture, and it is also sturdy and reliable.
Lastly, the packaging box of the new MacBook Air 15” is incredibly minimalist. The entire front is white without any text, only featuring an illustration on the side of the notebook.
Inside the packaging box, it includes an instruction manual, a woven charging cable, and a 35W dual USB-C port compact power adapter as complimentary items. Of course, buyers can also choose a 75W USB-C fast-charging power adapter.
