The DXOMARK Imaging Test Results For The Xiaomi 13 Ultra: 14th in The World

On June 9th, Gizcoupon reported that despite not being officially tested by Xiaomi, DXOMARK managed to acquire the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and conducted a thorough evaluation. The final overall score for imaging tests reached 140 points, positioning this smartphone at 14th on DXOMARK’s global imaging rankings.

DXOMARK stated that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra exhibited exceptional performance overall, particularly in the zoom category. It delivered a highly consistent zooming experience within its range and performed remarkably well in low-light conditions. Exposure and color rendering were praiseworthy, showcasing natural texture and detail presentation, in contrast to some competitors’ tendency to overly sharpen details.

Furthermore, the 13 Ultra demonstrated smooth and accurate autofocus during video recording. It provides comfortable color reproduction and contrast. Its overall performance showed significant improvements compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

However, this smartphone does have some drawbacks. DXOMARK noted that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra could benefit from enhanced exposure stability, especially when using HDR in portrait scenes.

Reportedly, this model tends to exhibit excessive color saturation in outdoor shooting, occasionally resulting in halo effects in photos. While it excels in rapid capture, there can be noticeable variations in burst-shot images. Additionally, the skin smoothing effect in portrait mode appears excessively smooth, lacking fine texture details. Occasionally, artifacts may appear in video recordings, and the noise control and stabilization performance are not entirely consistent.

Gizcoupon added that DXOMARK conducted the testing using the vivid mode from Leica. Moreover, although the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s aperture can automatically switch between f/1.9 and f/4.0 based on different scenes, the dual aperture was not set as the default configuration. Therefore, DXOMARK conducted the tests in the default f/1.9 mode.
