Sources Say Xiaomi/Meizu/OPPO/iQOO are Testing Smartphones with The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 Chipset

On May 29th, Gizcoupon reported that some Chinese smartphone brands are preparing to launch new smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset. It will be an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Furthermore, it has a significant increase in price.

As revealed by the Weibo blogger @数码闲聊站, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset is currently undergoing testing by Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Meizu, OPPO, and iQOO. It is expected to be featured in the iQOO 11S, which is set to debut in Q3 2023, and the new Xiaomi Fold 3 foldable screen is rumored to adopt this new chipset. Furthermore, there are also expectations that the OPPO realme GT Neo6 and the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will utilize it.

The blogger also mentioned that the previously exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 high-frequency version, used in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, will no longer remain exclusive. Chinese brands like ASUS, OnePlus, Red Magic, and Xiaomi will get the upgraded chipset later this year.
