DJI Air 3 Exposed: Upgraded Up and Down Dual Camera, Insertable Battery

On May 25th, Gizcoupon reported that after a two-year hiatus, the new DJI Air series drone from DJI has once again been unveiled. The official WeChat account(Chinese Social Platform) of “Aerial Photography Home” released an image that appears to be the actual DJI Air 3 drone.

From the image, it can be observed that the DJI Air 3 drone retains the basic design of its predecessor. The battery adopts an insertable design, and the camera system has been upgraded to up and down dual-camera setup. However, the previous generation DJI Air 2S featured a single camera.

The DJI Air 2S, previously reported by Gizcoupon, has a 1-inch outsole CMOS camera with a single pixel size of up to 2.4 μm. Moreover, it supports up to 5.4K (5472×3078) 30fps video shooting. In addition, it also supports 4K/60fps, 1080P/120fps video recording. It provides two encodings of H.264 and H.265, with a maximum of 150Mbps. Additionally, it also supports 10-bit Dlog-M mode, which can record video in 1 billion colors while preserving more details. It sells for about $919.

According to the disclosure from “Aerial Photography Home,” the DJI Air 3 will also feature improvements in the 4G module. The exact release date is currently unknown, but Gizcoupon’s followers can look forward to it.
