Redmi Pad 2 Exposed: Snapdragon 680 Chip + 90Hz LCD Screen

On May 23rd, Gizcoupon reported that Xiaomi Redmi is currently developing a new tablet the model number 23073RPBFG. Additionally, this device has made an appearance in the EEC certification database and is speculated to be the Redmi Pad 2.

Insider Kacper Skrzypek shared the configuration details of the Redmi Pad 2 on Twitter. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset (Gizcoupon note: The first-generation Redmi Pad featured the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 is an 8-core chipset announced on October 27, 2021, manufactured using 6nm process technology. It has 2400 MHz quad-core Kryo 265 Gold (Cortex-A73) and 1900 MHz quad-core Kryo 265 Silver (Cortex-A53).

Compared to the MediaTek Helio G99, the Snapdragon 680 chipset is expected to exhibit a slight overall performance decrease. On average, the Helio G99 offers approximately a 16% improvement in GPU performance, and its AnTuTu benchmark score surpasses that of the Snapdragon 680 by approximately 35%.

The leak suggests that the Redmi Pad 2 will feature a 10.95-inch LCD display with dimensions of 2358mm x 1474mm. Additionally, it will have a 1200×1920 resolution and support a 90Hz refresh rate. The tablet will sport an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. It will also come pre-installed with MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
