Global Internet Speed Ranking for Q1 2023 Have been Released

On April 20th, Gizcoupon reported that internet speed analysis firm Ookla recently released the latest Global Internet Speed Ranking report for the first quarter of 2023. The report showed that Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Chile, China, and Denmark topped the list of countries/regions with the fastest fixed broadband speeds. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Norway, Kuwait, and Denmark ranked in the top five for mobile download speeds.

The global Internet speed ranking report indicated that the global median download and upload speeds for fixed broadband internet were 79 Mbps and 34.92 Mbps, respectively, with a latency of 9 milliseconds. The global median download and upload speeds for mobile internet were 41.54 Mbps and 10.42 Mbps, respectively, with a latency of 28 milliseconds.

Additionally, Gizcoupon noted that the Ookla report also revealed the internet performance of certain cities. Beijing had the fastest median speed for fixed broadband at 264.92 Mbps, with a latency of 9 milliseconds. Ar-Rayyan in Qatar had the fastest median mobile internet speed at 223.87 Mbps, with a latency of 18 milliseconds.

The report also showed that the four fastest devices for download speed in the United States were the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold4, Pixel 7 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Overall, Samsung had the fastest median mobile download speed in the US at 91.57 Mbps, surpassing Apple’s 76.92 Mbps.
